I have always loved watches, not just wearing them but collecting as well. My first watch was a Seiko Sport Tech which was a gift from my parents for my 18th birthday, many years ago now. I still have it today along with the original box and this has now appreciated in value ten–fold! It doesn’t have to be a Rolex or a Hublot to be collectable, it’s all about finding something a little bit special. Watches are wonderful things: not only do they tell you the time, but some have fascinating histories behind them, like my grandfather’s gold watch, presented to him on his retirement after 43 years on the British Railways.
I source all the watches on DJC Trading myself and will clearly state if they are brand new, ex demo or pre-owned. I can guarantee they are all wonderful timepieces, and different in their own way. The watch is there to be enjoyed, but, if well cared for and kept with its original box and papers can appreciate in value over time. Watches also make great items to hand down, perhaps to your grandchildren in the future, a legacy to leave one day…
