The inaugural release of Douglas Laing’s Strathearn Single Malt marks the legendary independent bottler’s graduation into the realm of distilling!
Douglas Laing acquired the Perthshire-based Strathearn distillery in 2019 and with a small team, set to work on re-launching the brand, and the creation of this, its first single malt. The whisky was drawn from a selection of 32 bourbon, sherry, and virgin oak casks, combining older spirit inherited with the acquisition of the distillery, and a portion of younger spirit distilled under the new ownership, overseen by lead distiller Angela Brown. Boasting a satisfying ABV of 50%, and housed in a handsome acorn-shaped bottle, this release declares the house style that Douglas Laing aims to produce at Strathearn.
