This is a fantastic nostalgic piece for Glenmorangie fans: a good condition, discontinued gift set from the early 2000s, captured in the classic “Old Style” packaging.
The centrepiece is a 70cl bottle of the Glenmorangie 10 Year Old, distilled in the era when the “Sixteen Men of Tain” were at the height of their fame. This older bottling is renowned for having a slightly weightier, waxier texture than the modern version, bursting with citrus, vanilla, and almond notes.
However, the real treasure for collectors lies in the two accompanying 5cl miniatures, which showcase Glenmorangie’s pioneering work in cask finishing:
-
Port Wood Finish: A rich, fruity dram with notes of dark chocolate and mint.
-
Burgundy Wood Finish: A rare and highly sought-after expression. This finish was discontinued long ago and is famous for its unique profile of summer berries and dry oak spices.
Presented in the original textured presentation box with a tasting booklet, this is a perfect time capsule of Highland whisky history.
