This is a highly sought-after, discontinued bottle from The Macallan’s famous 1824 Series.
This revolutionary range (which also included Gold, Amber, and Ruby) was one of Macallan’s first to be bottled with no-age-statement, focusing entirely on natural colour and maturation. The ‘Sienna’, named for its deep, natural hue, was a premium expression within the series.
This whisky is a 100% sherry-matured masterpiece, crafted from a combination of first-fill European and American oak sherry-seasoned casks from Jerez, Spain. This specific maturation gives it a rich, warm profile and its beautiful natural colour.
Expect classic, complex Macallan notes of chocolate-orange, rich dried fruits (raisins and dates), aromatic spices, and a long, smooth finish. Jim Murray awarded it an impressive 94.5 points in his Whisky Bible.
