This is the highly sought-after Lagavulin 2019 Distillers Edition, a celebrated limited annual release for collectors and fans of premium peated whisky. This specific bottling is a 16 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the 2003 vintage (bottling code Lg.16.04). True to the Distillers Edition series, this expression is double matured, spending its second maturation in rich Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry casks. This process perfectly marries the intense, maritime peat smoke, iodine, and bonfire notes of classic Lagavulin with a luscious, sweet complexity of raisins, figs, and dark chocolate from the PX cask finish. Bottled at 43% ABV, it is a collectible whisky that represents a richer, sweeter, and more complex side of the iconic Lagavulin 16.
