This rare, discontinued bottle was part of the official Diageo x HBO “Game of Thrones” Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection, released in 2019 to celebrate the show’s final season.
Representing the direwolf of Winterfell, this Dalwhinnie is a smooth and resilient Highland single malt. Hailing from one of Scotland’s highest and coldest distilleries, its character is forged by the extreme climate, much like the Starks themselves. It was matured in ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at 43% ABV.
The whisky opens with Dalwhinnie’s signature honeyed sweetness, with notes of fresh figs and pear. The ex-bourbon casks add a unique, accessible smoothness. Expect flavours of manuka honey and malt, all balanced with a warming, peppery spice and a rich, fruity finish. It is famously designed to be enjoyed chilled, straight from the freezer.
