This rare, discontinued bottle was part of the official Diageo x HBO “Game of Thrones” Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection, released in 2019 to celebrate the show’s final season.
Representing the roaring lion of Casterly Rock, this Lagavulin is a fierce and complex Islay single malt. It was matured exclusively in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at 46% ABV.
The whisky opens with Lagavulin’s signature intense peat smoke, but the 9 years in fresh bourbon casks add a unique, rich sweetness. Expect notes of smoky, caramelised banana, burnt marshmallow, and vanilla, all balanced with a classic salted caramel and peppery finish.
