The “Exceptional Cask Selection” series from Foursquare Distillery in Barbados is widely considered the gold standard of modern rum collecting. This specific release is Mark XVII (17), distilled in 2009 and bottled in April 2021.
It is a “Single Blended Rum,” meaning it is a blend of heavy pot-still and lighter twin-column still rums, both distilled at Foursquare. The liquid has been aged for a full 12 years in ex-bourbon American white oak casks. Bottled at a robust 60% ABV without chill-filtration or added sugar, it delivers an intense, authentic Bajan rum experience.
Tasting Profile:

Nose: Intense vanilla, toasted coconut, and dried apricots, backed by heavy oak and a hint of furniture polish.
