This is The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve, a sumptuous and elegant Highland Single Malt that showcases a masterful cask finish.
The spirit is first matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. It is then “finessed,” with half of the whisky finishing in specially selected Tawny Port pipes sourced directly from the renowned Port producer, W&J Graham’s, in Portugal.
This premium Port cask finish imbues the classic Dalmore spirit with rich and fruity complexity. It is bottled at a higher strength of 46.5% ABV for a fuller body and flavour.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of sweet red berries, oranges, plum, and toffee.
- Palate: A rich taste of nectarines, creamy caramel, roasted nuts, and java coffee.
- Finish: A long and rewarding finish of rich plum, blood orange, and cherry.
