The Return of a Legend: First Release Since 2017
The Yamazaki “Limited Edition” series was a global phenomenon from 2014 to 2017, but it was abruptly discontinued due to stock shortages. The 2021 Edition marked the triumphant return of this collectible series, making it highly significant for fans of Japanese whisky.
Unlike previous editions (which were blends of various cask types), the 2021 release focuses exclusively on Virgin Mizunara (Japanese Oak) Casks. The liquid is composed of 12-year-old (and older) malts matured in these rare, notoriously difficult-to-cooper casks. The result is the definitive “Yamazaki” profile: aromatic, spicy, and deeply resinous.
