This is an exceptionally rare and historic bottle: the Kininvie 17 Year Old, Batch No. 001.
This is the first-ever batch of 17-year-old single malt released from the Kininvie distillery, a rarely-seen “distillery within a distillery” at the Balvenie site. Distilled in 1996, this expression was originally released in 2012 exclusively for the Travel Retail market.
The spirit is a marriage of 80% ex-bourbon casks and 20% ex-sherry casks, creating a beautifully sweet, buttery, and spicy single malt with a long, lingering finish.
Kininvie is rarely bottled as a single malt (its spirit is the heart of the popular Monkey Shoulder blend), making this “Batch 1” a true “unicorn” and a must-have for any serious Speyside collector.
